English Conversations: In the restaurant

– Good evening, sir. Good evening, madam. Here’s the menu.  I can recommend the lamb, and the salmon is excellent.
* Thank you. I don’t like lamb very much. And I don’t want salmon today. What about chicken?
– Certainly, madam. We have some very nice roast chicken.  We serve it with rice and vegetables.
* That sounds really good. What about you, Richard? Do you like chicken too?
  – No, I don’t think so. I prefer fish. What’s on the menu?
* Well, sir. You can choose from salmon, lobster and sole.
– The salmon and lobster are very expensive. But the Dover sole sounds good. Does it really come from Dover?
* I don’t think so, sir.
– Does it come with potatoes?
  * Yes, sir. You can have potatoes or rice with your sole.
– What do you recommend?
* Why not rice, Richard? We can also have peas and brussels sprouts.
– And to drink?
* Mineral water for me, please.
– And a large beer for me, please. I’m thirsty.
* Certainly, sir.
