Immigration Officer: What's the nature of your visit? Business or pleasure?
Paul Reyfield: Pleasure. I'm visiting my relatives.
Immigration Officer: How long are going to stay in the United States?
Paul Reyfield: Three weeks.
Immigration Officer: What's your occupation?
Paul Reyfield: I work as an accountant for a Romanian telecommunication company.
Immigration Officer: Do you have a return ticket?
Paul Reyfield: Yes, here it is.
Immigration Officer: That's fine. Thanks.Enjoy your trip.

Mr.Reyfield: Yes.I'll have the beef stew for starters and my wife would like tomato soup.    
Waiter: One beef stew and one tomato soup.What would you like for the main course?  
Mr.Reyfield: I'll have the Cayenne Pepper steak and my wife would like the Fried Trout with mashed potatoes.    
Waiter: I'm afraid the trout is off.  
Mrs.Reyfield: Oh dear. Err...What  else do you recommend?  
Waiter: The sole is very good.    
Mrs.Reyfield: Ok. I'll have that. Do you have any coleslaw?  
Waiter: No, I'm sorry, we don't.    
Mrs.Reyfield: Just give me a mixed salad then.    
Mr.Reyfield: Same for me.

Waiter: Certainly. Here you are.

English Conversations: I get up at 6.30 every morning


Lotta:– Hello, Carma. This is Lotta. How are you today?
Carma: Hello, Lotta. I’m fine but a little tired.
Lotta: Let’s go to the cinema and see that new film this evening.
It starts at half past seven.

Carma: I’m not sure if I can this evening.
I must work until 6 o’clock and
then I must get up early for work tomorrow morning.

Lotta: But the film ends at quarter past ten. That’s not late.
Carma: For me it is. I get up at 6.30 every morning
and I’m always tired in the morning.
Then tomorrow is Thursday and
I must work until 7 o’clock.

Lotta: Let’s see the film on Saturday instead.
We can go at 4 o’clock and
afterwards we can have dinner somewhere.

Carma: That’s a good idea. I am free on Saturday
and I can sleep until 10 o’clock on Sunday.
I love sleeping late at the weekend.

Lotta: So do I. Then let’s meet outside the cinema
at half past three on Saturday.

Carma: That’s fine. I look forward to Saturday.
Lotta: Me, too! Bye, Carma.
Carma: Goodbye, Lotta, and thank you for phoning.

* That sounds really good. What about you, Richard? Do you like chicken too?
  – No, I don’t think so. I prefer fish. What’s on the menu?  
* Well, sir. You can choose from salmon, lobster and sole.
– The salmon and lobster are very expensive. But the Dover sole sounds good. Does it really come from Dover?  
* I don’t think so, sir.
– Does it come with potatoes?
  * Yes, sir. You can have potatoes or rice with your sole.
– What do you recommend?  
* Why not rice, Richard? We can also have peas and brussels sprouts.  
– And to drink?  
* Mineral water for me, please.  
– And a large beer for me, please. I’m thirsty.
